Specialized in holistic women’s health and ultrasound medicine
Dr. med. Deny Saputra is a board-certified specialist in gynaecology and obstetrics with a focus on prenatal medicine. His interdisciplinary approach combines Western medicine with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), aesthetic medicine, and psychosomatic primary care. He is the founder of the Mahameru Center for Women’s Health, TCM, and Aesthetics in Frutigen (Switzerland).
Born in 1987 in Jakarta (Indonesia), Dr. Saputra grew up in his hometown. After completing his medical studies, he moved directly to Germany, where he successfully passed the equivalency exam for medical licensure – the so-called “Kenntnisprüfung” – in four medical disciplines.
He began his specialist training in gynaecology and obstetrics in Berlin, the capital of Germany. To broaden his horizons, he later moved to a hospital in southern Thuringia under the direction of Dr. Matthias Schmidt. At the time, Dr. Schmidt had just been appointed chief physician of the Level I Perinatal Center, Breast Center, Pelvic Floor Center, and the gynaecology department, and brought Dr. Saputra with him as the only member of his previous team.
After passing his specialist exam, Dr. Saputra was appointed senior physician. Under Dr. Schmidt’s guidance, he deepened his expertise in obstetrics and perinatal medicine. He specialised early on in gynaecological and obstetric ultrasound. In 2020, he obtained the DEGUM Level II ultrasound certification (German Society for Ultrasound in Medicine) at the Department of Obstetrics at Charité – University Medicine Berlin under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Henrich.
In parallel, Dr. Saputra completed his doctorate at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena on operative obstetric cerclage to prevent premature birth. He also completed two consecutive Master’s degrees in Nuremberg and Jena:

His passion for learning and teaching continues to this day.
After Dr. Schmidt’s retirement, Dr. Saputra moved to the University Hospital Marburg, Campus Fulda, to continue his training in gynaecologic oncology. In 2022, he was appointed senior consultant at Spital Linth in Switzerland. He later took on the role of Head of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at Spital Frutigen.
Despite his young age, Dr. Saputra has already held several leadership positions in Germany and Switzerland. He is also highly committed in Switzerland: among other qualifications, he holds the colposcopy diploma (Basel) as well as certificates of competence in ultrasound and laboratory diagnostics.
After the closure of the maternity ward at Spital Frutigen, Dr. Saputra continues to advocate for reliable gynaecological care in the Kandertal region – through his own practice and the founding of the Mahameru Center.
Dr. Saputra brings international clinical experience – as a speaker at specialist conferences in Europe, through academic teaching, and via humanitarian missions in Africa.

Science & Commitment
Dr. med. Saputra has presented numerous scientific contributions at international congresses (IGCS, WCPM, FMF) and published in peer-reviewed journals (e.g., GebFra, Springer Verlag). He completed his doctoral thesis in prenatal medicine at the University Women’s Hospital in Jena.
Since 2019, he has regularly volunteered in medical missions in Africa, initially with the German aid organization Hamer e.V. and, since 2024, with the Swiss humanitarian foundation AN-NYA.
